@@Daniel_Batal I get you. If you learn the fundamentals before taking the shortcuts you’ll be better prepared for more complex work. I appreciate your tutorials and education brother. I came from adobe about 1.5 years ago and I never looked back. The learning curve for resolve was immense but now I’m more comfortable with it than I was with premiere and after effects. I love it. My only complaint rn is I can’t figure out how to tell resolve to look in different places for footage. I have a wedding video I’m doing rn and I have the original files on a network drive with copies on a portable SSD. I’m trying to relink the clips by telling resolve to use the ones on the portable ssd, but it keeps using the network drive clips. I even disconnected my laptop from my network, tried to relink from the SSD, and it’s telling me all my media is offline. Been having this problem for a while now. Media management was definitely easier on premiere. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

It’s one of those things that different software handle in different ways, none of them great options but once you understand why, it all makes sense

@@Daniel_Batal Yep! Very true. I can happily say that I do understand way more now than I did only a couple of years ago. As a result, I respect well put together videos way more too.

Just swap the clip in the media pool and if you want the original clip to exist in your media pool, just import it again

@@Daniel_Batal Is it true if my pictures I import are green then I need to upgrade to the full version? That was an article I read. I’m considering doing that if it fixes my issues.

Make sure you read the licensing agreements wherever you source your music from (there are more than I can count). You must comply with the explicit usage rights of the music source or risk copyright claims or even strikes. Reminder, UA-cam has its own audio library cleared to use on platform, many of them free.

No. As an example, if you have an project built and a video asset goes missing from the media pool, it will still show you all of the edits in place down in your timeline but every single piece will turn red with a "media offline" notice for each, but all of the project assignments will still be in place. Try it out on a test project. Build a quick edit then delete the source file from your system location and reopen the project. Or even watch this video at the 25 second mark and look at the timeline in the lower left

Depends which page you are in. If were are in the Edit Page like we were here in this video and you added keyframes to let's say a video clip... in the timeline, look at that clip and you will now notice the two icons on the lower right of that asset are now active. The one in the lowest right corner (the diamond shaped icon) is clickable and it will expand a keyframe control window below that asset in your timeline, showing all the keyframes that have been added and this gives you the ability to do exactly what you said... move them, delete them, etc. The icon just to the left of that diamond-shaped control icon (sort of a squiggly line with a couple of markers) is the keyframe spline icon. If you click that, it allows you to do modify the motion flow interactions of those keyframes at a deeper level including easing in/easing out and creating motion curves. ​@@Daniel_Batalhey Daniel! Thanks for getting back. Man I've forgotten to write "keyframes of effects" When I have an effect I can't see those diamonds on the edit timeline clips to expand.

Depends on the effect and where the keyframing was applied. Give me an example of an effect you’ve added and then keyframed but couldn’t access those keyframes

@@Daniel_Batal I want to use the effect binoculars for a video I'm working on for tonight. There's no diamond symbol at the clips right side (just all those at the inspector). I know now, that I can use the keyframe (spine?) editor window in fusion for that.

Got it. Thanks for hanging in there with me through this conversation. You're absolutely right that for specific effects the keyframing doesn't give us an obvious expanded window for control. I'm doing my best to work out a contract with BlackMagic Designs to become an official brand ambassador for their product (which should hopefully also give me more access to the designers to raise awareness of the community's issues). I'll definitely make a note of this ❤️

Yes, Magic Mask would aid in this process. As I stated at the very beginning of this video, I’m using the latest BETA version 19 of Resolve Studio. I also stated that I was going to show how to do this using features available to folks using either version. It's a tricky balance trying to cater to users of both versions, for sure.
